Banksy, the popular British street artist, has yet to reveal his identity to the public, who have been left wondering, who is Banksy?
Who he is remains a mystery. There have been some clues as to his real name, but as yet there has been no confirmation as to who Banksy really is.
Other than being a renowned but as yet unidentified London graffiti street artist. There have been reports made that his real name is Robin Gunningham, but his true identity has yet to be confirmed.
It is believed that he was born in Bristol City during the first half of the 1970′s.
Banksy began his career as a stencil graffiti artist in his local area becoming one of the DryBreadZ Crew using graffiti stencils. His themes were often of a political nature using rats, monkeys, the elderly, policeman and children to make humorous anti-establishment graffiti images. He soon become known amongst the Bristol Underground Scene.
This website does not know where the his first street art appeared but we believe his stencil graffiti style was becoming renowned around the start of the new millennium and it was around this time that people began to ask who is Banksy?
His art first appeared abroad around this time too during a trip the street artist took to Australia circa 2001 where his art was found at the Arts Factory lodge toilet soon after.
Since then Banksy art has made an appearance all over the world, painted on walls, hung in exhibitions, painted on canvas and even through a film, Exit Through The Gift Shop.
Who is Banksy? This is a question still left hanging in many people’s minds.
