What is some prominent photo realism art?
If you could point me in the direction of some realists that do realism art, preferably ones that often use people as subjects & paintings that look unbelievably real.
I already know about Chuck Close from the realist art movement, but he’s not what I’m looking for.

Take a picture. What is real? What is seeing? What is experience? These are things artists contemplate. Philosophy is the diving force of art. Technology innovations change the context in which art inspires the mind of the artistic creator which has always had an effect on art history and what we view in an art gallery. I hope this helps!

I’m not sure I understand exactly what you’re asking (by Victorian, do you mean the realist Millais or work by Waterhouse, etc?), but I would try Rene Magritte, Salvador Dali, and Giorgio de Chirico, or any other surrealist painter.

Were the documentary capabilities of the camera influential in bringing about the loose brushwork of the oil paintings of the Impressionists?
Also, would you happen to know about the second question. I can’t seem to find good and to the point answers about realism art or social realism.

Photography caused the realist expressionistic painters to start their work and movement. It gave them a reason to show meaning in the work without it having to be life like.

Does an artists “realism” sway your view of him or her?
Example, if a a guy is a dope gangster rapper and raps about the whole package (popping caps in asses & dumping bodies etc), but never lived that life and really grew up in a middle class family in the burbs with mom & dad would that change your opinion of him? Would that stop you from listening to him or having respect for him?

I actually couldn’t care less. Hip hop is realism art. Art is a form of entertainment.
The likelihood of G Rap actually robbing trains or “Putting two in your ass bitch and one up in the misses” is quite low.
I dont for rappers who appear “real” (which is definitely meant in the zen sense and not the elitist sense)
