What is the rat quote from the Banksy graffiti book War and Piece?
I looked at this book at a friends in Bristol and there was a great quote about rats. Something about living in filth but able to bring down civilization? Does anybody know the Banksy graffiti quote? Thanks
Well I don’t exactly know but there is this other Banksy graffiti quote by the graffiti artist that says “laugh now but one day i will be in charge”

I hold a great respect for Banksy graffiti.
First of all he assaults you with the fact that it’s graffiti and his identity is unknown. So it’s not a permanent artwork placed on walls, it’s slightly naughty/illegal. Secondly, his painting, using stencils, is graphic visually. He mixes up a variety of styles from urban to stencil imagery to create provocative statements that challenge us socially to think.
His visuals and text provide us with puns that have more than one layer of consciousness. The joke makes us think twice about the message. That’s smart. He’s not being a smart-***, he challenges us about socially relevant issues, about art, galleries, about politics, about what we perceive to be important.
This is what art truly is about. It is a documentation of our times, a questioning of what is perceived as truth. Banksy graffiti sees the irony and hypocrisy of our mundane lives (at times) and asks us to view a larger picture.
These are the things that make banksy’s work good. Plus he’s very guerilla about his tactics and strategy, creating an air of mystery and “naughty boyishness” about the work, further endearing us to his social rebellion to the status quo of the Ivory Tower Elitism of the more conventional art world.

Betty asks…
Is this a Banksy graffiti original?
I recently found an image of smoking pipes in graffiti on the sidewalk that was done in typical Banksy graffiti style and wondered if it was actually him or a fake. it is not signed “banksy” but is using the same stensil approach to create the image. How can i find out if it is actually an original?
